A large focus throughout the program has been hands-on learning through fieldwork while on the snow. Throughout both our first and second year there have been many ski tours with our professors. During these tours, we were given in-field instruction including:
- demonstrations.
- practice digging dozens to hundreds of snowpits.
- learning how to use all varieties of snow tools.
- search and rescue practice.
- assisting teaching the year one students.
- countless more unforgettable learning experiences.
Below I have attached a number of pictures from a few of our field missions. Attached to each image is an explanation behind it.
